Hi everyone,

The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic is on the weekend of 29th and 30th October 2016.

I am putting out the call a bit earlier this year so that there is more time for everyone to liaise with their adjacent checkpoints and get their equipment ready for the event.

We are looking for volunteers to help provide the safety communications for the event. There are 14 locations on the day and several sites to be setup before hand..

If you haven't participated in the event before, now is your chance to get out in the field and see how an exercise operates. You won't be put by yourself. You'll be placed with someone who has participated before.

The Closedown boat will be operated as last year, with 3 operators, changing over at Echo and India. This spreads the load.

If you would like to volunteer please respond to this email with the following details; Name and callsign, Mobile phone number, Bands you are able to operate on, ie 70cm, 2m, 6m, Whether you are able to operate packet, Whether you would be able to operate on a boat, Whether you would like to operate in the control centre at SES headquarters.

Thanks to everyone. It will be great to see the old faces but also some new ones.
