Witwood Carriage Driving Event - Call for Volunteers

WICEN will be supporting a Carriage Driving event at the property "Witwood" on the Bungendore to Braidwood road on Sunday 28 October.

This is an ideal WICEN practice event for newcomers to amateur radio who wish to participate in WICEN events.  We are looking for 15 operators however this can vary depending on set up for the course.  All that is required of us is to pass back to control the arrival time of a competitor at an obstacle  and the time they depart.  This is done using 2M FM simplex, and most of the course is line of sight so only a  modest set up is required.  In most case you would able to operate from your vehicle using handheld tranceivers.

Being a low key event we invite newcomers and recently licensed F-calls to join us and we will pair you up with a more experienced operator (if they are available) to gain experience of a WICEN event.  Registered operators are provided with a snack pack lunch by the organisers. If you arrive at around 0700 you can avail your self of an egg & bacon roll and tea or coffee provided by the organisers. The event briefing starts at around 0730, set up generally begins around 0800hrs.  The event runs from around 0900 to mid afternoon generally no later than 1600hrs.

Amanda VK1WX will be the coordinator for the event.

This year we have moved to using google forms to collect & collate responses rather than relying on emailed responses.  Please check your calendars for your availability and complete the form at the following link, noting your preferences for times and places:

On submission of the form, you should get an email confirming the form has been submitted and a link to your response.  If you do experience any issues with the form (or don’t get an email from google forms) then please let me know.
