Good evening all, apologies if you receive multiple copies of this email, but would like to ensure you receive this advice.

Unfortunately due to Corona Virus concerns, the 2 Day walk organisers have had to significantly modify this year’s 2 Day walk. It will now be a much smaller scale activity that will be around the lake on both days without checkpoints (just a guided amble) for the remaining participants. As such they have no need of our services.

Next years event will be run by the rotary club so we do not know what the future will hold for our participation in this activity – time will tell. Thanks to those who have volunteered, but the good news at least is that you will have that weekend off now.

I expect that the Corona Virus will continue to impact on these type of events until at least spring time, but if we are asked to support any other activities before then, we will of course let everyone know. Thanks again.

Subject: [WICEN-Members] Call for Volunteers - Two Day Walk (04-05 April 2020)

Good evening all, we have another WICEN assisted event coming up, this time it is the Two Day Walk on the weekend of 04-05 April.

We need to provide operators at approximately 5 checkpoints on both the Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s walks are around Lake Burleigh Griffin and the Sunday walks will consist of various distances starting from the Tuggeranong area up to the finish point at Albert Hall (where the HQ will be located). We will also be needing 3-4 operators each day at the HQ and assistance on the Friday and Sunday to setup/pull down gear.

Phil VK1PL advises that he is still short of approximately 4 operators for field positions in the National Capital Rally being held next weekend, so if you have the time to help out, please advise via the wicen@crarc.org.au email address.
