Good morning all, as we progress through the busy spring season for WICEN supported activities we have one final event for spring to request your assistance, that being the Fitz's Challenge on Sunday 27 October.
The Fitz Challenge is a long distance cycling event (total distance of up to 255km) were we provide safety monitoring checkpoints at various locations along the course. The course will be through Namadgi National Park and Paddys River Rd Tidbinbilla. The course is the same as previous years with checkpoints at: Tharwa Village, Rendezvous Creek, Orroral Valley U-turn, Fitz Hill, Honeysuckle Creek U-turn, Corin Forest recreation facility, Kangaroo Creek U-turn and Near Uriarra Homestead. HQ at Stromlo cycle park will run two networks, one on 2m amateur band and one on an 80MHz WICEN allocation. We will need at least two operators on two shifts, total four.
