Good morning everyone, We are still looking for some assistance with the Tumut Rally on Saturday, so if you haven't already let me know of your availability for this one, could you get back to me ASAP so I can finalise the roster. The event has timings as follows..... HQ will need to be open around 07:30 - 8:00 AM with the first Meet Time for people in the field is 8:30 Stages / timings appear to be as follows..... Prologue & SS3 ('Hartwigs' Stage) has a meet time of 8:30 AM and a proposed finish time around 4:45 PM SS1/SS5 (Sandy Creek / Argalong Stock Route) has a proposed meet time of 10:00 AM and proposed finish around 5:45 PM SS2/SS6 (Cotterills) has a proposed meet time of 10:30 AM and proposed finish around 6:30 PM SS4/SS7 (Micalong Creek) has a proposed meet time of 12:30 PM with a proposed finish around 7:15 PM All times are in reference to being at Bondo (approx 30 min's drive out of Tumut). If you have a preference for what stage(s) you wish to do then please let me know noting that we do need to spread across the day. Seeking assistance with WICEN Exercises and the Fitz's challeng Bike ride (Sun 27th Oct) & Tumut Rally (Sat 2nd Nov)

Good afternoon everyone. Looking forward til later in the month & early November we have 3 more events, The Battle of the Beasts mountain bike ride seems to be under control (Graham, can you let me know ?), and we now need to look at the Fitz's Challenge bike ride being conducted on Sunday 27th October, and a week later we have the Tumut Rally on Saturday 2nd November. For Fitz's Challenge, we need a minimum of 10 field stations, 3 mobiles & 3-4 people in HQ across the day, ideally we would like a total of 25 people to cover off all checkpoints, mobiles & HQ however it is very hard to get that sort of numbers. This event starts at 6.00 AM for the "Extreme" (255 KM) and "Epic" (205 KM) rides, with other ides commencing at 7:30 AM for the "Classic" (165 KM) 8:30 AM for the 105 KM "Tharwa" ride, and 9:00 AM for the 50 KM "Tidbinbilla" ride. We need to be set-up and in place at HQ prior to the start, and we need field stations in place at Tharwa by 7:00 AM (and those people at the 6 checkpoints beyond Tharwa need to be past Tharwa by 7:15 so as to be in front of the cyclists). For the Tumut Rally we need to support 11 field stations and 3-4 people in HQ. The location is at "Bondo" about 30 KM's from Tumut (look for Bondo Forest HQ which is about 2 KM's away). This is approx 225 KM's (2.5 hours away) from Canberra via the Hume Hwy through Gundagai and Tumut, or 126 KM's (2.8 Hrs) via Wee Jasper, or 95 KM's (2.7 Hr's according to Google Maps) via Brindabella Road (the last 2 have a fair amount of rough dirt road - but passable in 2WD with reasonable clearance). It is hoped that we will again get a number of people come over from the Wagga Wagga ARC, and we already have a volunteer coming from Western Sydney for the day but we do need a core of people to drive down from here as well. So now for the normal plea, could you please hit the REPLY (and not REPLY ALL) button and let me/us know of your availability for each event, please be a bit specific as to which you can or cannot attend. Help setting up & tearing down the repeaters for the Horse Ride this weekend....

Good morning all, Thanks to all those who have volunteered for the ride on Sunday, it is very much appreciated and whilst a couple more would make it a bit easier on us we now have all bases covered (though Alan will be out in the field for 12 hours plus travelling time). Onto the next part of the exercise and we need a hand to get the TWO trailers from Wayne's QTH in Wanniassa across to Red Hill and load the gear we need for both the repeaters and the HQ and then get them out to the ride location and "Pig Hill". I do not have a vehicle with a tow bar at present (though I am hoping to get my son Adam VK1FADD to come along and help) so we need TWO people with appropriate vehicles for this one. 4WD will be required for the repeater access, but 2WD is okay for the ride base trailer. We need to set-up the repeaters (147.125 MHz & the 80 MHz portables) on Pig Hill early Saturday afternoon (ie, set-up by around 2:30 PM) and then move on to set the HQ marquee & radio gear. Even if you cannot assist with the ride on Sunday, maybe you could assist in the set-up activity on the Saturday. I am not sure about when we would tear down the gear as it is expected the last riders will not be back until 8:00 PM, though it may be possible to pull down the repeaters earlier and continue our comm's on Bulls Had and/or Isaacs Ridge repeaters, otherwise it may be a trip back out on Monday !
